As the temperature climbs this month, we anticipate summer picnics and sweet ice cream relief, but our hunger pales in comparison to the dire food situation in much of the world. Our first story this month faces the food shortage with sustenance science powered by PCs all over the globe. Next, we'll come back to the United States – to the very birthplace of the nation – and celebrate one company's independence from the employment practices of the past. Then, we'll head to the Crossroads of America where conservation concerns intersect with a tasty chocolate treat. Finally, our fourth story examines the true merging of "company" and "cause" in both name and nature.
